PARLAY is a one-day conference that aims at providing postgraduates from all research areas in linguistics with an opportunity to present and discuss their research in an interdisciplinary, friendly, and intellectually stimulating setting at the University of York.

Call for Papers:

We invite postgraduate (Masters and PhD) students and early career researchers to submit abstracts for both oral and poster presentations on any topic in language and linguistics and all language-related areas in education, sociology, and psychology. These may include, but are not restricted to:

Applied linguistics, cognitive linguistics, computational linguistics, conversation analysis, corpus linguistics, discourse analysis, forensic linguistics, historical linguistics, language acquisition, language learning & teaching, language planning & policy, language revitalisation, morphology, neurolinguistics, phonetics, phonology, pragmatics, psycholinguistics, semantics, sociolinguistics, and syntax.

Plenary Speakers:

We are honoured to have Dr Ghada Khattab (University of Newcastle) and Dr Adam Schembri (University of Birmingham) as plenary speakers for PARLAY 2019.

Submission Guidelines:

Abstracts should not exceed 300 words (excluding references) and should be fully anonymised. Authors may submit a maximum of two abstracts, provided they are the sole or lead author of at most one abstract. A template with formatting information is available for download on our website (http://parlayconference.altervista.org/).

Please submit your abstract as a Word/PDF document (.doc, .docx or .pdf) to EasyAbs (http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/PARLAY2019). During submission, please also indicate whether you would like to be considered for an oral presentation or a poster. If you indicate that you wish to be considered for both, we will assume that the preference is for an oral presentation.

Authors of accepted abstracts will be asked to provide an editable version with all author information de-anonymised.
