The Linguistics section of the School of Languages, Cultures & Linguistics at University College Dublin invites high potential, early-stage academics to consider the recruitment initiative recently launched by the university. The UCD Ad Astra Fellows programme will see approximately 65 appointments being made at Lecturer/Assistant Professor grade each year across all academic disciplines represented in UCD. Excellence, creativity and the interest and capacity to engage across disciplines are underpinning values.

Further information available at the application link below.

The UCD Ad Astra Fellows programme is extremely competitive and applicants are expected to have research outputs in the pipeline that will readily transition to research activity within UCD.

Applications will consist of a cover letter, in which the applicant will describe how their academic interests fit with those of UCD, a complete CV including all research publications and research grants to date together with any publications submitted for publication but not yet published, and the names and contact details of three potential referees.

Candidates should contact the Head of School, Professor Bettina Migge, at the contact information provided below, before submitting an application for advice as to whether their application will be competitive.

UCD is committed to providing an inclusive work environment for faculty, staff and students, which is demonstrated in Objective 5 of the University Strategic Plan: “Attract and retain an excellent and diverse cohort of students, faculty and staff”. As a multidisciplinary and multicultural School, the School of Languages, Cultures & Linguistics celebrates diversity in all its forms for the varied intellectual environment and the welcoming atmosphere it creates for both students and staff.
