Description:
Professorship (W3) for Romance Linguistics (French/ Spanish/Italian) is to be occupied at the next possible date at the Faculty of Modern Languages at the Heidelberg University.
The candidate represents Romance Linguistics in research and teaching (BA, MA). Preferred foci in research are French and/or Spanish as well as Italian linguistics. A further focus on contact linguistics (Francophonie) is considered an asset. We expect experience or proven interest in the acquisition of third party funding, contributions to university self-governing, and the active cooperation in the linguistic research projects at the Faculty of Modern Languages.
In accordance with Paragraph 47 Section 2 of the Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Wuerttemberg (the Baden-Wuerttemberg State Higher Education Act), this appointment requires a habilitation (postdoctoral qualification), a positively evaluated junior professorship, or an equivalent qualification.
The university aims to increase the number of women in areas in which they have been underrepresented in until now. Qualified female academics are especially invited to apply. Preference will be given to disabled applicants who are otherwise equally qualified for the position.
