The Department of Linguistics, in the College of Liberal Arts and
Sciences at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Research
Associate with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2019. The initial appointment is for one year,
with the possibility of renewal for a second year. The position carries a teaching load of one course
per semester. We seek an exceptionally talented scholar in theoretical and/or experimental linguistics
whose research interests coincide well with those of current department faculty. While linguists of any
specialization are welcome to apply, the teaching responsibilities may include one course on formal

research/publication trajectory; ability to teach effectively at the graduate and undergraduate level;
and active research interests integrating well with those of the Department’s current faculty members.

expands the linguistic and/or methodological diversity of the department; a strong commitment to
theoretical linguistics; evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and advising; and the ability
to contribute through research, teaching, and/or public engagement to the diversity and excellence of
the learning experience.
This is a 11 month, annually renewable
position. The successful candidate's primary academic appointment will be in the Department of
Linguistics at the Storrs campus.
