Meeting Description:

The school of Georgian terminology has a long history and a rich terminological heritage (church and theological, philosophical, grammatical, mathematical and other types of Georgian terminology date back to the VII-X centuries). However, recently in almost every branch of science in Georgia, terminological diversity has ballooned. Problems in terminology hinders the development of bilingual Lexicography in some way.

In order to solve this problem, the Department of Scientific Terminology and Bilingual Dictionaries of Arnold Chikobava Institute of Linguistics at TSU has since 2013 organized a local annual conference Scientific Terminology, and publishes the scientific journal Terminological Issues. Recently, this department founded the Vukol Beridze Association of Terminology of Georgia (GTA). This association has already been accepted as a member of the European Association for Terminology (EAFT). After a successful 1st International Conference in 2018 we are pleased to invite scholars to participate in the 2nd international conference Terminology – Heritage and Modernity 2020.
