Description:
Amazon is seeking a French Language Data Processing Expert to join our Alexa data team. This role focuses on speech and language data, primarily in the areas of grammar writing, text annotation, and general language expansion deliverables.
The French Language Data Processing Expert must be capable of:
- Building a thorough understanding of labeling conventions and provide support to global sites
- Localizing established guidelines from English into French
- Developing French grammars and other forms of NLU applications
- Improving deployed grammars by expanding coverage, accuracy, and eliminating bugs
- Delivering high quality data output under aggressive deadlines
- Working autonomously with minimum direction
- Handling unique data analysis requests from a range of data customers
- Contributing to process improvements to reduce handling time and improve data output
- Diving deep into issues and implement solutions independently
- Providing quality expertise to other team members and coaching improvements
In addition, the French Language Data Processing Expert will need to quickly understand changes in response to customers’ requests and change workflows accordingly. The French Language Data Processing Expert must have a passion for data, efficiency, and accuracy as well as:
- Show proactive efforts in addressing issues and problems
- Excellent communication, strong organizational skills and very detail oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment
- Willingness to support several projects at one time, and to accept re-prioritization as necessary
- Ability to keep up with changing project conventions and priorities

Basic qualifications:
- BA or BS degree in Linguistics/Computational Linguistics, or equivalent practical experience in data mark-up
- Native level fluency in French
- Business level fluency in English
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Independent, proactive, and self-motivated with record in timely delivery of requests
- Team player with exceptional interpersonal and solution-oriented attitude
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Skilled working knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft Office/Excel, JIRA, Oracle
