A service in memory of Eric Pratt Hamp (1920-2019), Robert Maynard Hutchins Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of Linguistics, Slavic Languages and Literatures, Psychology, and the Committee on the Ancient World at the University of Chicago, will be held at Bond Chapel (1025 East 58th Street) on Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Remarks will begin at 4:00 p.m. A reception from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. will follow the service in the Social Sciences Tea Room (1126 East 59th Street, room 201). All members of the university community, friends, family, and the public are invited to attend to celebrate Eric’s life.
