Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Brigham Young University announces two continuing faculty status track (tenure track), professorial positions in linguistics. A Ph.D. in linguistics or a related field is required (completed by August 2021); both new and established scholars are invited to apply. The Department offers an MA, BA, and undergraduate minor in Linguistics, a BA in English Language, an MA and undergraduate minor in TESOL, a BA and an undergraduate minor in Editing and Publishing, and an undergraduate minor in Linguistic Computing.

One candidate is sought who will contribute principally to the Linguistics and English Language programs. Another candidate is sought specializing in applied linguistics or English linguistics. In both cases, compelling applicants with other specializations will also be considered, and the ability to teach courses in other specialties within the department is highly desirable.

Primary responsibilities include teaching, research, graduate student supervision, and citizenship assignments. Starting rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
