The Humanities Center for Advanced Studies “Words, Bones, Genes, Tools: Tracking Linguistic, Cultural and Biological Trajectories of the Human Past” of the University of Tübingen (
http://www.wordsandbones.uni-tuebingen.de) seeks to fill a position of a Junior Research Group Leader (TV-L E13, 100%)
with an excellent publication and third-party funding track record. Areas of expertise include linguistics, evolutionary anthropology, archaeology, paleogenetics and/or related fields. The position should start at the earliest possible date and will be limited to 4 years.
The successful candidate should show an interdisciplinary research agenda in accordance with the goals of the Center. He or she will be expected to develop his/her research program, to collaborate on existing projects of the Center, to contribute to the supervision of students, to participate and contribute to Center activities (symposia, colloquia, retreats). Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in the above-mentioned fields or equivalent, postdoctoral experience, and an outstanding research record.
Salary will be according to the German Salary System TV-L 13, 100 %. The position additionally includes four-year salary funds for 2 graduate researchers, as well as research start-up funds. Additional funding can be made available to support women and families.
