Meeting Description:

The 3rd Approaches to Digital Discourse Analysis Conference (ADDA 3) will be held at the St. Petersburg campus of the University of South Florida (USF). This conference aims to bring together researchers interested in the analysis of digital discourse from different disciplines, approaches and traditions. Thus, it seeks to foster state-of-the-art debates and discussions on this burgeoning field of research and provide opportunities for multidisciplinary and critical reflection. This is the first time the ADDA conference will be held in the US, following the ADDA 1 (Valencia, 2015) and ADDA 2 (Turku, 2019) conferences.

Papers are invited from discourse scholars from different traditions focusing on digital discourse and other relevant fields, among others:

- Discourse and identities in the digital world
- Multimodality and digital discourse
- Conflict in digital discourse

- Digital discourse and society

- Any other relevant topics related to digital discourse

Paper proposal guidelines:
The deadline for individual paper proposals is November 15, 2021. Please submit an abstract of no more than 350 words, including references, on the Abstract submission page. (You'll need to create a system account if you don't already have one.)

Panel proposal guidelines:
Panel proposals should include the following:
- title of the panel
- name(s) of panel organizer
- 200 word summary, or overview, of the panel
Complete abstracts for all the papers to be included in the panel (350 words per paper)
Panel organizers should submit their proposals via email to Please write “Panel Proposal” in subject line. The deadline for panel proposals is October 1, 2021. Panel organizers will receive notification of acceptance by November 1, 2021.

Once a panel is accepted, each panel participant should submit the abstract for their individual paper to the Abstract submission page no later than November 15, 2021. Please be sure to indicate the name of the panel at the bottom of the form.
