Description:

The Department of French at Dalhousie University invites applications from junior academics for a Limited Term Appointment (10- month term), at the Assistant Professor level in the area of French linguistics, effective August 1, 2021. This position is subject to budgetary approval.

Primary responsibilities will include:
- Teaching French language classes at the undergraduate level,
- Teaching linguistics courses at the undergraduate level,
- Teaching graduate seminars in linguistics,
- Serving on departmental committees.

Necessary qualifications, experience and skills:
- Doctorate in hand at the time of appointment
- Specialization in applied linguistics (teaching of French as a second language) would be an asset
- Experience teaching French as a second language
- Experience using language teaching technology
- Native or near-native fluency in French.
