Department:
The Department of Language and Linguistic Science is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics to contribute to research and teaching from 1 September 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. The post is full-time.

Role:
You will play a full part in the research, teaching, supervision and administration of the Department with particular responsibility for leadership in teaching, supervising and curriculum development on our English language and linguistics programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will also develop research objectives, projects and proposals and lead and carry out individual or collaborative research projects as well as lead on and/or contribute to the production and dissemination of research outputs and research outcomes.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Needed:
You are a mid-career teacher and researcher, with a PhD in Linguistics or closely related field, who has established a track record of high-quality empirical research and is committed to excellence in teaching and supervision. We particularly welcome research and teaching interests and specialist knowledge that will complement and enhance the department’s research portfolio in one or more of the following areas (with a special focus on varieties of English): language change, language use, language variation.
