The “innovation topic” of the grant is the analysis and detection of online hate speech (in multiple languages). We welcome candidates with relevant backgrounds in linguistics, sociology, digital humanities, natural language processing, and/or computing science. We encourage students with programming skills and knowledge of machine learning approaches to natural language processing.
The student will work together with another student carrying out her own PhD research on automatic misogyny identification (2) and will have the chance to interact with the scholars of the Department of Interpreting and Translation as well as the Alma Mater Research Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (AlmaAI) (3).
