Focus: The program consists of six courses, which cover the topics IDS, variability in language acquisition, executive functions, bilingual development as well as the methods EEG/ERP and pupillometry. The courses are listed below: Titia Benders (Macquarie U): How phonetics can inform infant studies: Infant-directed speech (IDS) & perceptual cues [6 hrs] Matt Hilton (U Potsdam): Executive functions and language development [3 hrs] Liquan Liu (U Oslo): Bilingualism in infancy [6 hrs] Carolyn Quam (Portland State U): Variability and flexibility in word learning [6 hrs] Claudia Männel (MPI-CBS Leipzig & Charité Berlin): ERPs in language acquisition [method course, 3 hrs] Alan Langus/Tom Fritzsche (U Potsdam): Pupillometry [method course, 3 hrs]

ISOLDE is a biannual international summer school. It is specifically organized to bring together students and early-stage researchers who work in language acquisition research in Europe to increase exchange and collaboration between young researchers.
The summer school is primarily targeted at PhD students and postdocs, Master and Bachelor students are welcome, too.
ISOLDE usually takes place in Potsdam, Germany. This year's edition will be held exclusively online.

Please register online. All applicants are required to provide a motivation letter (one page as PDF file) convincing the ISOLDE team of how the topics of the summer school are relevant to them. The team will review the motivation letters and notify the applicants about their admission in mid-April.
