Description:
This all expenses paid program will bring talented undergraduate and MA students to Ann Arbor for a 2-week workshop to help you prepare to apply to a PhD in Linguistics, and to give you an overview of the opportunities and resources available for students at the University of Michigan, especially in Linguistics.

The program may be held entirely remotely for a second time this year, depending on public health guidance from the State of Michigan and the University of Michigan.

You will meet with faculty and PhD students to talk about research in linguistics, and will have the opportunity to work on your own research project under the guidance of U-M Linguistics faculty. The fellowship will also include a graduate application workshop and gatherings with faculty and current graduate students from Linguistics and other disciplines.

The application deadline is Monday, February 22, 2021. See link for application materials that you should submit, including statements and two letters of recommendation. Send this flyer right away to faculty you think could recommend you, so that they already know you are interested in applying.

Selected applicants will receive a $1,000 stipend for their participation in the program. If the program is held in person again this year (see link for details), then your round trip travel, lodging, and on-campus meals will also be paid by MICHHERS.
