Job Description: The Département d'Etudes Cognitives (DEC) at Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris ( will offer two 1-year postdoctoral positions in experimental semantics/pragmatics and formal semantics/pragmatics.

Practical issues:
These positions will be funded by the projects SEMEXP and FRONTEM (European Research Council). They can be renewed for a 2nd year, conditional on approval by the initial selection committee. The postdoctoral fellows will preferably start in September 2013, but a later date is negotiable (the applicant's PhD should have been defended and filed by the starting date). The net salary will be of approximately 2060 euros/month.

The postdoctoral fellows will conduct research within the LINGUAE group (, whose members’ core areas of expertise are in formal and experimental semantics/pragmatic.

While these are primarily research positions, they will also involve small organizational and teaching responsibilities. Regular participation in collective scientific activities (e.g., seminars) will be expected.

The successful applicants will have a strong background in formal semantics/pragmatics or experimental semantics/pragmatics. Having demonstrated an interest in both would be a plus.
