Notice: I am an audiologist and linguist who is am seeking assistance in writing a research proposal for educating deaf and hearing impaired children using a curriculum based on syntactic research.

Recently, I attended an international congress and met a rehabilitation manager of a company who was interested in my methods. They asked that I write a proposal so they could decide if they'd like to cooperate with me in conducting and publishing the research I've done so far.

My specific question is: Is there any special form or format you would recommend for me to include in my proposal regarding how much money I should be requesting for conducting said research under the auspices of the company? I do not currently reside in the home country of the company and I am not familiar with international research payment methods or procedures.

Additionally, I am concerned about intellectual property rights, i.e. if I write a research proposal, could the company then steal my idea? What's the best way to prevent this from occurring?

Please let me know if you have any experience or suggestions in this matter.
