The V2 Conspiracy: A Synchronic and a Diachronic Analysis of Verbal Positions in Germanic Languages
In this diachronic study, it is argued that the changes under consideration are the result of a shift from "morphological" means of visualizing certain relations to "syntactic" means; which is in turn related to deflexion.
