Journal Information

Title: Translatio
Publisher: Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul
URL: http://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/translatio/index
Description: Translation and Interpreting Studies: Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian and Frech papers accepted.

The area of translation studies shares its conceptual base with other areas of knowledge such as Comparative Literature, Language Studies, Cultural Studies and Anthropology. In this conceptual and theoretical overlap the intertextual, interdisciplinary and historical character of the translation act becomes evident; thus, research and extension projects in this multidisciplinary field are justified. Translatio is an instrument of dissemination and exchange between translation researchers and translators, a space where teachers, students and translation scholars can promote concrete relations of transitivity between the different areas, understood here as an essential operation of the process of knowledge acquisition. The journal should also be an instrument for the dissemination of research projects in the area of translation, of articles and works on translation processes, as well as critical reviews of literary and / or theoretical-critical texts in that area.
