Abstract: This study aims at investigating the ill-formed plural nouns as a linguistically distinct phenomenon in the Jordanian context. The study employs a triangulation of methodology and data collection methods. The data were collected (a) by observing peoples' ordinary speech, facebook profile names and internet and (b) by using a semi-structured questionnaire. The results revealed that there were significant statistical differences between males and females in favor of females' in terms of both familiarity and frequency of use of some words. It was, also, found that the contexts in which the plural forms occur goes beyond the typical concept of natural plural nouns because of the new semantic values that these plurals convey.
