Abstract: Many waves of Southern Italian emigration occurred at the very beginning of 1900. Now, especially in South America, first and second generation of Italian descent speak Italian (as L1/L2/LS). In collaboration with the Phonetics Laboratory of the University of Rosario, we have recorded 20 speakers and analysed the presence/absence of some dialectological variables.
