The Korean Generative Grammar Circle was founded in 1989, and the circle has published "Studies in Generative Grammar," its official journal, since 1990. The journal has contributed to the growth of generative grammar in S. Korea by giving linguists opportunities to share their research. The circle has also hosted an annual international conference on generative grammar (Seoul International Conference on Generative Grammar (SICOGG)) since 1999.
