Based in Seoul, Korea, The Hunmin jeongeum Society has two major objectives: First, to stimulate worldwide scholarly research on human writing systems including Hunmin jeongeum (the Korean alphabet). Second, to accelerate the study of endangered languages lacking an alphabet, and to offer their native speakers a writing system that is tailored to the needs of their languages.
