The Laboratoire Parole et Langage (Speech and Language Lab or LPL) is a "mixed" research unit (UMR) which means that it is affiliated with both CNRS (National Research Council) and Aix-Marseille University. The lab hosts a large (80+) team of phoneticians, linguists, computer scientists, psychologists, neuroscientist, physicists and physicians. This interdisciplinary team studies the mechanisms involved in speech and language production, perception and understanding through a wide range of methodologies, centered around empirical approaches grounded on experimental and corpus data.
