The Publishing House of the University of Wrocław is one of the largest university publishing houses in Poland. It was established in the 1960s as a publishing department of the university. Along with the development, the editorial needs of the University related to the necessity to publish teaching aids and research papers increased, which resulted in the continuous development of the publishing department, which in 1972 obtained the status of a university publishing house. In recent years, as the publishing offer is opened to authors also from outside the University of Wrocław, it has taken the form of a nationwide publishing house. The profile includes scientific and popular science publications, materials from scientific conferences and symposiums, fiction with scientific commentaries, textbooks and scripts. Annually, 120-140 titles are published in several dozen publishing series.
