"Buenos dias", "buenas noches" -- this was the first words in a foreign language I heard in my life, as a three-year old boy growing up in developing post-war Western Germany, where the first gastarbeiters had arrived from Spain. Fascinated by the strange sounds, I tried to get to know some more languages, the only opportunity being TV courses of English and French -- there was no foreign language education for pre-teen school children in Germany yet in those days. Program Description: The Erasmus Mundus Masters Course in Clinical Linguistics (EMCL) is a 24 months full-time interdisciplinary and transnational university program at Masters level providing integrated training in neurolinguistics and clinical lingustics. It offers a joint Msc degree of the Universities of Potsdam (Germany), Joensuu (Finland), and a double degree of the University of Groningen (Netherlands)

The objectives of EMCL are to offer a full-time interdisciplinary and transnational university programme at the research masters level providing integrated training in theoretical and experimental neurolinguistics and psycholinguistics with clinical issues. The aim of the Masters Course is to train highly qualified advanced students who are excellently prepared for research work and PhD-programmes in the above fields.
