|Program Description:||This four-course graduate program is targeted for Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) teachers and instructors who are interested in teaching practices and students' needs in the global world. This graduate program addresses the need for professional learning that attends to the growing and changing demographics of learners in our classrooms.
This program will explore teaching English as a second language from an array of perspectives. The topics will range from an examination of global contemporary issues to more practical approaches associated with classroom instruction.
Program learning goals include:
- Understand theories and practices of second language acquisition and programs associated with teaching English as a second language
- Examine relevant teaching methods and practical strategies for focusing on language learning and literacy development in your classroom.
- Understand social issues related to English as a global language.
