Description:

The Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing (UKP) Lab (Technical University ofDarmstadt, Germany) has an immediate opening for several PhD students to carryout research in the areas of (1) lexical semantic processing utilizingcollaboratively constructed resources, (2) enhancing question answering systemsby means of semantics, and (3) natural language processing for educationalpurposes. The positions are funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) andother third parties.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in computer science and/orcomputational linguistics. Previous work experience with one of the themesmentioned above is a definite asset (M.Sc., or equivalent). A keen interest inthe topic and the will to pursue a doctoral degree in Natural LanguageProcessing at the Computer Science Department of the Technical University ofDarmstadt are expected.
