Description:

The Center for Cognitive Studies at Tufts University has a position for2009-10 for a postdoctoral fellow with research interests in linguistics orpsycholinguistics, to work under the direction of Co-Director RayJackendoff. Individuals are encouraged to apply who have an interest inapplying Conceptual Semantics, the Parallel Architecture, or the SimplerSyntax Hypothesis to new areas of empirical investigation, or to buildconnections between these theories and other frameworks such as formalsemantics, HPSG, and Optimality Theory. In addition to pursuing research,the fellow will participate in teaching linguistics courses in the TuftsCognitive and Brain Sciences program and will also participate ininterdisciplinary seminars and working groups sponsored by the Center forCognitive Studies. The fellow will receive a competitive stipend.

Applicants should submit a short research proposal of no more than 3single-spaced pages; a curriculum vitae; a one-page description of approachto teaching/mentoring and teaching experience; and three letters ofrecommendation.
