I am a graduate student at Syracuse University, and for my class inSemantics, my research project is to study and find out a test thatshows the distinction between the stative vs. dynamic verbs in Turkish. So far I have tried and applied Vendler's/Dowty's tests, but they did notwork for Turkish: stative verbs can occur in progressive, they can alsooccur as complements of force and persuasion, and also they canoccur as imperatives in Turkish.

If anyone can suggest any other tests that can be used for this type ofverb class, it would be very helpful.

Thank you,Ayten Gungor
