Description:

Applications are invited for two full-time posts in the School ofLinguistics and English Language. The successful candidates will join adynamic, supportive, and friendly School with a strategy of building on itsstrength in the areas of bilingualism/ multilingualism and cognitivelinguistics, and its emphasis on empirical research methodologies.Applicants will have a sustained or emerging track record in academicpublishing and research activity supported by a PhD in a relevant field,and will be expected to contribute to the growth of a strong researchculture in the School. There will be opportunities to engage withinitiatives linked to the ESRC Centre for Research on Bilingualism inTheory and Practice, join existing interdisciplinary research groups anduse their new-state-of-the-art research lab and equipment.

We are particularly interested in appointing candidates with a track recordin the area of Phonetics/Phonology, Sociolinguistics and/or Anthropologicallinguistics. An interest in variation and/or interfaces (within and/orbeyond the discipline of linguistics) would be an advantage. Knowledge ofWelsh is desirable.
