Meeting Description:

Preliminary Notice

The world of corpus linguistics has expanded to include diachronic as well as synchronic corpora, with ARCHER (A Representative Corpus of Historical English Registers) serving as a model for a number of other historical corpora, in terms of annotations and representativeness. Now is an opportune time to bring specialists together to discuss the construction, annotation and analysis of diachronic corpora in a variety of languages. This conference is organised by the GerManC Project, which aims to compile a representative historical corpus of written German for the years 1650-1800, and is supported by the ESRC and AHRC.

The following have agreed to give plenary papers:

David Denison (Manchester) Anke Lüdeling (Berlin) Terttu Nevalainen (Helsinki) Klaus-Peter Wegera (Bochum)

Organisational Committee:

Martin Durrell Paul Bennett Silke Scheible Richard J. Whitt
