Description:

As part of a global team, we are looking for experts in linguistic technology,including but not limited to, statistical machine translation (SMT), opensource tools, and automation workflows.

The position is located either in Bertrange, Luxembourg or in Berlin,Germany.

Your responsibilities:- Design, implementation and maintenance of components for euroscript'sinternal machine translation services;- Analysis of project workflows with respect to leverage of machinetranslation, definition of project-specific requirements on the machinetranslation service;- Evaluation and optimization of the performance of the machine translationservice;- Permanent survey of on-going market, technological and scientificdevelopments in the area of translation automation

Your profile:Required:- MSc/Diploma in computational linguistics or computer science with goodknowledge of machine translation (MT), as well as a broad overview of tasks,tools and developments in the area of natural language processing;- High familiarity with recent developments in SMT;- Ability to translate ideas from scientific research to practical application ina commercial environment;- At least three years of programming experience;- Ability to write technical documents and scientific papers in English;- Independent and open minded, with a strong sense of initiative;- Able to work harmoniously with other members within an international,multidisciplinary team, and with a multilingual user community;- Prior practical experience with statistical and/or grammar-based MTsystems;- Good oral and written command of English is required

Preferred:- Practical experience with open source statistical machine translationsystems (e.g. Moses);- Programming experience with Python;- Familiarity with further EU languages (preferably French, Dutch or German);- Experience in the translation environment and with CAT-Tools
