Description:

This job involves working with Oracle Knowledge software to help customers implement Oracle Knowledge tools and to manage the implementation once it goes live. Oracle Knowledge encompasses 3 main technologies: Search (Natural Language Search Engine), Information Manager (Content Management System), and Analytics (data on how the tools are being used). The Language Engineer will learn to configure and operate all 3 technologies and apply that knowledge in new implementations of the software package, upgrades, and Managed Services. They will lead the design and implementation of the 3 technologies, so they must be comfortable speaking with customers about the technologies and to think on their feet about design recommendations and be able to solve problems within the parameters of what the technologies allow.

This is a hybrid role that walks a fine line between engineering the natural language search engine to fit the needs of a business, and software consultation, so the ideal candidate should be comfortable wearing both the engineer hat and the business analyst hat. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with technology, and quick to pick up new technologies while possessing a strong intuition about language and how search engines process language. The skills requirement is as follows:

Required:- Excellent command of the English language.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- A genuine interest in language, how it works. Someone with a degree in aForeign Language, Linguistics, or English.- Some technical background, preferably light programming experience orexperience using scripting or matching languages like Perl, Python, RegularExpressions, grep, etc.- Experience troubleshooting technical issues. Someone with 5 yearsexperience working as a technical support agent in IT or Software.- Comfortable working in Windows and Unix environments.- Experience working with multiple projects, that can self-direct with minimalguidance.- A valid US driver license (this is so they can drive themselves around if theneed to go on site).- Experience working remotely with client, working over VPN and holdingconference calls with client.- Required to provide presentations to clients, training them on a product,and communicating with them on issues.- Greater than 3 years experience working for a corporation.- Flexible about working late hours as this is sometimes required tocoordinate with India.

Preferred:- Consulting experience, preferably in software.- Some experience working with search engines, indexing content, andcontent management systems.- Experience working with Analytics data, particularly around contentworkflows, content systems, and search.- Familiarity with SQL and SQL reports.
