Description:
We are looking for a postdoc to join our Deep Language Understandingproject led by Prasad Tadepalli, Tom Dietterich and Xiaoli Fern. The goalof this DARPA-funded project is to infer facts, relationships, and eventsthat are not explicitly mentioned in text. Our approach combines richrepresentations, models of the pragmatics of communication, and novelmachine learning and inference methods. Qualifications include a PhD incomputer science or related fields, and experience in natural languageprocessing such as parsing, coreference resolution, information extraction,and semantic analysis. Experience with richer knowledge representationssuch as first order logic, and statistical relational models and their usein text processing is a plus.
