Focus: Methods in language comprehension. New methods for studying sentence comprehension in cognitive science, behavioral science and neuroscience.
Minimum Education Level: PhD
Special Qualifications:Participants must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program or be in a post doctoralposition having earned the doctoral degree no more than 5 years beforethe application deadline. A very good knowledge of English is required.Prior knowledge or experience with qualitative research in behavioral orbiological sciences is necessary. Participants will receive a certificate fortheir attendance. Participants will be selected on the basis of the strengthof their CV, motivation statement and supervisor’s support letter.
Description:Applications are now open for a four day Autumn school that will covernew methods of data analysis in sentence comprehension and exposeparticipants to cutting-edge methods for analyzing language data collectedwith behavioral and neuroscientific methods. The school’s instructors areexperts in corpus based analysis, EEG, ERP and fMRI methods as appliedto complex language inputs. Each will present a theoretical module andeither supervise data analysis sessions or discuss data analysis issues.The target audience is graduate students and post-docs involved in studyinglanguage comprehension using corpus-based tools, electrophysiology, fMRIor combinations of these techniques.
