Focus: The UNDL Foundation and the National Academy of Sciences ofArmenia invite applications for the XIII UNL School, to take place at theNAS Gallery, in Yerevan, Armenia, from September 23rd to 27th, 2013,in conjunction with CSIT 2013. The workshop is dedicated to the developmentof the UNL modules of languages spoken in Eastern Europe, Western Asia andCentral Asia. The UNDL Foundation will pay the travel and accommodationexpenses for the selected candidates not living in Yerevan.Minimum Education Level: BA

Special Qualifications:- Candidates must be native speakers of any of the languages spoken inEastern Europe, Western Asia or Central Asia

- Candidates must be a national resident in Balkan Peninsula, Eastern Europe,Western Asia, Central Asia or Iran

- Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree in linguistics,language studies, translation studies, computational linguistics or relatedfield

- Candidates must be approved in CLEA250, CLEA500 and CLEA750.(These certificates may be pursued online at www.unlweb.net)

- Candidates must have a good command of English.

Description:During the workshop, the participants are expected to provide themorphological, syntactic and semantic modules of the grammar necessary togenerate the workshop corpus from UNL into their native language, and fromtheir native language into UNL. The UNDL Foundation will provide all thetraining and support necessary for the accomplishment of the tasks.

Financial Aid: Applications accepted until 18-Aug-2013The UNDL Foundation will pay the travel and accommodation expenses for theselected candidates not living in Yerevan. These include:

- A round trip plane, bus or train ticket from/to Yerevan

- 6 nights at the Yerevan State University Guest House (check in on Sep 22, checkout on Sep 28) 7 per diem of USD50.00 (USD350.00 in total)
