Description:

We are looking to hire a doctoral student in computational linguistics for the newly funded DFG project on analyzing the dramas of Calderón de la Barca. The project will be carried out in collaboration between the chair of Theoretical Computational Linguistics at the University of Stuttgart (Sebastian Padó) and the chair of Romance Philology at the University of Tübingen (Hanno Ehrlicher). Start date is spring 2023.

Your background:
- Master's degree in (computational) linguistics, computer science, digital humanities or related field
- Strong experience in computational analysis of text
- Knowledge of Spanish, ideally including historical stages
- Ideally, experience with interdisciplinary collaboration in the digital humanities, in particular between computational linguistics and literary studies

The position:
- 3-year doctoral researcher position at 85% TV-L 13, approx. 40-45kE/year before taxes, see [1] for details
- The goal of the project is to identify the role of recurring patterns -- on various linguistic levels -- in Spanish 'siglo de oro' dramas by Calderón de la Barca, in particular with regard to productivity.
