The Linguistics Research Department at University College London invites applications for a permanent position in Syntax. Appointment can be at the level of Assistant Professor (UK Lecturer) or Associate Professor. Start date ideally is September 2023.

The successful candidate will have a commitment to world-class research, and a clear program of research within theoretical syntax. He or she should have experience with research methods beyond standard grammaticality judgment gathering. The successful candidate will have a record of high-quality publications commensurate with the stage of their academic career. He or she will have the expertise and a record of research in languages complementary to those studied by other syntacticians in the department and contribute to the department’s research, teaching, graduate supervision and administration.
