De Gruyter Expands US Editorial Team
New hires in Linguistics and Political Science aid De Gruyter’s North American growth strategy
[Boston / Berlin, June 27, 2023] De Gruyter, a leading international academic publisher, is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to its editorial team in the United States. Meredith Keffer has been appointed as Senior Acquisitions Editor for De Gruyter’s Linguistics imprint Mouton, while Ze'ev Sudry has joined as Acquisitions Editor for Political Science.
Meredith Keffer brings a wealth of editorial experience and commitment in the field of linguistics to her new role as Senior Acquisitions Editor for Mouton. Keffer comes to Mouton with 10 years of experience in academic, trade, and higher education publishing at Oxford University Press. Most recently she served as a linguistics editor and worked with leading scholars to expand engagement with diversity and inclusion in the field. Keffer’s proven dedication to linguistics, coupled with her extensive industry knowledge, will enable her to grow the Mouton presence in North America.
Ze'ev Sudry’s appointment as Acquisitions Editor for Political Science is another significant addition to De Gruyter's editorial team. Sudry, who has a decade of experience in academic publishing and international relations, previously worked on the politics list at Routledge/Taylor & Francis. Sudry will be responsible for acquiring scholarly books that explore various aspects of political science, including international relations, American government, and related areas. His knowledge will contribute significantly to expanding and shaping the academic discourse of De Gruyter's social sciences program.
The appointment of Meredith Keffer and Ze’ev Sudry to the company’s Boston office aligns with De Gruyter’s growth and expansion strategy in North America. By appointing Keffer and Sudry to these new roles, the company will enhance its support for authors in the United States and Canada, while delivering outstanding publications in the humanities, social sciences, and science, technology and mathematics specifically tailored for North American audiences.
“We are thrilled to welcome Meredith Keffer and Ze'ev Sudry to our editorial team," said Manuela Gerlof, Vice President for Humanities and Social Sciences Publishing at De Gruyter. “Their skills and demonstrated work ethic within their respective fields will be instrumental in expanding our programs in linguistics and political science within the US and beyond. We are confident that their contributions will greatly benefit our authors, readers, and the academic community at large.”
