Meeting Description:

The II International Congress on Verbal Humor (#CIHV2024) will take place at the University of Alicante (Spain) from October 16 to 18, 2024. Sponsored by GRIALE and the research projects PID2019-104980GB-I00 "Interpersonal Humor in Spanish. Oral, written, and technological genres" (MCIN/AEI//10.13039/501100011033) and PROMETEO/2021/079 "Pragmatic labeling for an observatory of identity of women and men through humor. The platform Observahumor.com" (Consellería de Innovación, Universidades, Ciencia y Sociedad Digital. Generalitat Valenciana), it is a magnificent opportunity to bring together international researchers of the highest level, focusing on verbal humor and its idiosyncrasy from diverse perspectives. Moreover, it is an excellent opportunity to share knowledge about the latest advances in linguistic humor and to create new research networks among the various attendees or promote new ones.
