Dear innovative writing teachers,

Writing teachers are often stretched thin, so we appreciate you taking a moment of your time to read about an opportunity to publish practical pedagogy in the second-language writing classroom.

We, Ashton Dawes and Kathryn Jurns, language educators at Japanese universities, are assembling a collection of practices for second-language writing classrooms. As writing teachers ourselves, we can see the need for more focus on the confidence, community, and communication aspects that can support L2 learners' writing journeys. Therefore, we are setting our sights on putting together a book to share different practices regarding communication and peer review that teachers use to get their writing students talking about writing.

This is where you come in! We are looking for authors to submit chapter proposals (due December 31) on peer-review and other classroom practices at all levels of second-language writing education that incorporate communication or build students' confidence. Proposal deadline: December 31
Invitations sent: January 31
Chapter submissions: April 30
Publication: expected late 2025
