Meeting Description:
The complex phenomenon of language for specific purposes (LSP) does not cease to fascinate,
even after decades of study. New technologies, such as artificial intelligence, as well as the
growing need for the interdisciplinary approach, have contributed to the expansion, and thus,
further complexification of this field of study. Contemporary approaches and strategies in this
branch of applied linguistics no longer solely refer to the struggle for the recognition of the
existence of this linguistic variety, but are directed towards deeper theoretical reflection, as well as
practical action, in all domains and at all levels of LSP study, be it for academic, scientific or
professional purposes. We like to believe that scientific papers, research and activities that have
been presented in the previous five conferences organized by the Language for Specific Purposes
Special Interest Group of the Foreign Language and Literature Association of Serbia, have
contributed to this.
Hence, our sixth international LSP conference aims to carry on the tradition started out with its
first edition in the early 2008 and enable the exchange of views, ideas and results in this
multidisciplinary field of research.
