Modality is usually dealt with in terms of the following categories: epistemic modality, alethic modality, deontic modality. We may reserve a different category of modal expressions for terms dealing with discourse, shared knowledge, and discourse participation. Some modal expressions clearly have propositional status, while others, whether integrated or not from a syntactic point of view, do not necessarily have a propositional status but are more interactional in nature.
The workshop is carried out within the “Rethinking, Understanding Modal particles (RUM)” project and received funding from the European Union Next-GenerationEU – National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) – MISSION 4 COMPONENT 2, INVESTMENT 1.1 Fondo per il Programma Nazionale di Ricerca e Progetti di Rilevante Interesse Nazionale (PRIN) – CUP J53D23008360006. The views and opinions expressed are solely those of the authors and do not necessarily represent those of the European Union or the European Commission.
Some money is available for tickets and accommodation.
