The Seminar für Englische Philologie at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is offering a position as

Research Assistant (Assistant Lecturer) (f/m/d)

with 100 % of the regular weekly working hours (currently 39.8 hours/week) to be filled for an unlimited period. Payment is based on salary group 13 TV-L. The position is suitable for part-time work.

Your responsibilities
In addition to teaching linguistics in all degree programmes at the department, including the teacher training and Master of Education programmes, according to § 31 NHG, the successful candidate will conduct research in (English) linguistics, preferably with a focus on phonology, morphology, language acquisition, experimental linguistics or a combination thereof. The responsibilities also include advising students and coordinating tasks in the department. The teaching load is based on the current version of the LVVO; it is currently 10 teaching hours for the position to be filled (five courses per semester).

Your profile
The requirements for this position are a university degree and a PhD in (English) linguistics or a related subject, as well as a research focus in one of the areas of phonology, morphology, language acquisition or experimental linguistics. Experience in advisory roles and in university teaching, including teaching in teacher training programmes, is also expected. In addition, a very good knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of German is desirable but not essential; if this is not the case, level B2 in German must be acquired to within the first two years.
