HK Research Professor (Post Doc) Positions at the Center for Data Science in Humanities
Chosun University, Korea
The newly established Center for Data Science in Humanities (Director: Eon-Suk Ko) at Chosun University is seeking multiple full-time HK research professors to join a newly funded HK 3.0 research initiative titled "Language, Cognition, and Society: A Lifespan Data-Driven Approach." This six-year national project, supported by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, investigates how language and cognition develop and interact across the human lifespan—from infancy to older adulthood—through behavioral, corpus-based, and computational approaches.
The project is led by a diverse and interdisciplinary team of scholars, including Michael C. Frank (Stanford University), Eunjong Kong (Korea Aerospace University), Sunghye Cho (University of Pennsylvania), Katie Von Holzen (TU Braunschweig), Jun Ho Chai (Sunway University), Jae-Hun Jung (POSTECH), and Jongmin Jung, Haegwon Jeong, Chanjun Jeon, and Jungsoo Gim (Chosun University).
We are currently recruiting four to five HK research professors (Post Docs) to join this international collaboration and help build an interdisciplinary research community. Successful candidates will engage in both independent and collaborative research aligned with the project’s themes, contribute to training junior researchers, and participate in developing innovative methodologies for studying language and cognition.
In addition to general appointments, we are especially seeking researchers for two specialized positions:
1. ManyBabies-AtHome (MBAH) Word Recognition Lead: A postdoctoral-level role focused on infant word recognition in global, remote settings using collaborative, open science practices [https://tinyurl.com/ManyBabiesAH]
2. Language Biomarkers and AI in Neurocognitive Disorders: A postdoctoral researcher with experience in analyzing clinical/elderly speech using NLP, acoustic analysis, and machine learning to study cognitive decline and dementia [https://tinyurl.com/ElderSpeech]
If you are particularly interested in one of these positions, please indicate so in your cover letter.
