The organizers of the workshop “Abstract and Item-Specific Knowledge Across Domains and Frameworks” are pleased to announce a call for abstracts for a student poster session, and a call for student participation scholarship applications for the LSA Institute. The workshop, which is funded by the National Science Foundation, will take place at the University of Oregon on July 26-27, and will be co-located with the 2025 LSA Summer Institute. Please see the workshop website (https://sites.google.com/usc.edu/abstract-specific/home) to learn more.
Submissions are open for participant support scholarships to attend the LSA Institute for students whose research relates to the theme of the workshop, and for whom financial assistance in attending the workshop and LSA Summer Institute would be potentially transformative intellectually and professionally. The number of scholarships available will depend on the number and strength of applicants, but may cover up to the entire cost of transportation, room, board, and tuition for both sessions of the LSA Summer Institute, as well as the workshop itself. The link to submit an application is on the conference website. The deadline for scholarship applications is May 15th, 2025, 11:59pm PST. Results will be announced soon afterwards to allow for applicants to register for the Institute at the regular rate.
Submissions are open for student-led 1-page abstracts (with up to 1 additional page for figures and references) for posters that directly relate to the theme of the workshop “Abstract and Item-Specific Knowledge Across Domains and Frameworks”. The link to submit an abstract is on the conference website. The deadline for poster abstracts is June 15th, 2025, 11:59pm PST.
Note that while we encourage students to apply to both opportunities, applications will be evaluated separately.
