Description:
At the Department of Linguistics / Psycho- and Neurolinguistics, the position of University Assistant (Doctoral Candidate) in research and teaching is to be filled in accordance with the Austrian University Act (UG), the Employment Act, and the Collective Agreement for University Staff (§ 26). This is a B1 level position; the minimum monthly salary for this position is € 2,786.10 gross (paid 14 times per year), and may increase based on the recognition of relevant previous professional experience, in accordance with the collective agreement.

Responsibilities:
- Academic support in research and teaching in the field of Psycho-/Neurolinguistics
- Administrative tasks
- Independent research activities, including the preparation and publication of a dissertation
- Starting from the second year of employment, independent teaching of two semester hours per week is generally expected
- Participation in the research project “Linguistic Representations in Adults and Adolescents”, with a focus on the experimental investigation of language, language acquisition, or multilingualism
- Support of ongoing research activities within the Chair of Psycho-/Neurolinguistics
Required qualifications:
- Completed Master’s (or equivalent) degree in Linguistics and/or Psycho-/Neurolinguistics, with a focus on the experimental investigation of language, or equivalent qualification
- Excellent command of both German and English, both written and spoken
- Strong methodological expertise and sound knowledge in language acquisition and multilingualism
- Admission to a relevant doctoral program at the University of Salzburg
- Experience with implementation, execution, and analysis of fNIRS and EEG studies
Desirable additional qualifications:
- Proficiency in R
