Phonetics as a discipline and research area not only connects a number of different academic fields but, because of its requirements for data collection and analysis, also offers a wide range of applications for empirical research methods. Therefore, the goal of this workshop is to provide a platform for the discussion of theoretical, empirical, methodological, and technological questions in the field of phonetics, in which philological, linguistic, and speech technology perspectives enable an inter- and transdisciplinary exchange. Contributions from early-career researchers as well as experienced researchers are welcome.

Contributions may address topics from all areas of phonetics and speech processing, including:
- Theoretical aspects of phonetics
- Methods and methodology in articulatory, acoustic, and perceptual phonetics
- Language variation / dialect and standard language research / sociophonetics
- Speech perception and phonesthetics
- Linguistic interfaces (e.g., phonetics / phonology or phonetics / syntax)
- Phonetics in first, second, and foreign language acquisition
- Phonetics in (foreign) language teaching
- Speech synthesis / speech recognition / speech technology

Format: 20 min presentation + 10 min discussion per contribution, Presentations can be held via Zoom if required
Abstracts: 150 to 300 words, excluding references and figures, in German or English

Please indicate the intended language of your presentation. All abstracts must include references and be formatted according to the Unified Style Sheet for Linguistics.

Die Phonetik als Disziplin und Forschungsbereich verbindet nicht nur eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Fachbereiche, sondern bietet durch ihre Anforderungen an Datengewinnung und -auswertung auch ein breites Feld zur Anwendung vieler empirischer Forschungsmethoden. Entsprechend ist das Ziel dieses Workshops, dem Austausch über theoretische, empirische, methodologische und technologische Fragen im Bereich der Phonetik ein Forum zu bieten, in dem philologische, linguistische und sprachtechnologische Perspektiven eine inter- und transdisziplinäre Zusammenschau ermöglichen. Dabei sind Beiträge von Nachwuchswissenschaftler:innen sowie erfahrenen Forscher:innen und Lehrenden gleichermaßen willkommen.

Die Beiträge können alle Ebenen der Phonetik und Sprachverarbeitung umfassen, zum Beispiel:
- Theoretische Aspekte der Phonetik
- Methodik und Methodologie in der artikulatorischen, akustischen und perzeptiven Phonetik
- Variationslinguistik / Dialekt- und Standardforschung / Soziophonetik
- Sprachwahrnehmung und Phonästhetik
- Linguistische Schnittstellen (z. B. Phonetik / Phonologie oder Phonetik / Syntax)
- Phonetik im Erst-, Zweit- und Fremdspracherwerb
- Phonetik (Fremd-)Sprachenunterricht
- Sprachsynthese / Spracherkennung / Sprachtechnologie

Format: 20 min Präsentation + 10 min Diskussion pro Beitrag, Präsentationen können bei Bedarf via Zoom gehalten werden
Abstracts: 150 bis 300 Wörter exkl. Literaturangaben und Abbildungen, auf Deutsch oder Englisch. Bitte geben Sie die geplante Vortragssprache an. Alle Abstracts müssen Literaturangaben enthalten und nach dem Unified Style Sheet for Linguistics formatiert sein.
