Call for Chapter Proposals
Chinese Exiles’ Discourse on YouTube
Editor: Dr. Winnie Seid

This edited volume explores the unique political discourses of exiled Chinese YouTubers—voices that speak truths inaccessible within China due to censorship and repression. By analyzing these channels, the book seeks to shed light on new forms of counter-discourse, diasporic political engagement, and the global circulation of narratives about China.

We invite proposals examining:
- Individual exiled YouTubers and their discourse;
- Shared themes, strategies, or genres across this community;
- The influence, authenticity, and implications of these discourses.

The book is under contract with a major Western academic publisher. Proposals (chapter title + 100-word abstract) are due 31 October 2025. Chapters should be 6,000–12,000 words. Authors may publish under a pseudonym.
